Somrak Khamsing Highlight

Few nak muay are as loved by Thais and non-Thais alike than Somrak Khamsing. He has been around for what seems like forever, beating the best of the best during the golden era and still having the odd scrap today.

Even though Somrak didn’t win a Lumpinee title, he is still considered one of the greatest of all time. He beat champion after champion during his time as a Thai boxer and was ranked number one in all of the major stadiums but was denied a title shot by promoters.

Growing tired of Muay Thai politics and becoming frustrated at not getting to fight for the belt he so clearly deserved, Somrak switched his attention to boxing. He competed in four Olympic games between 1992 and 2004, winning the gold medal in 1996.

This defensive highlight shows just how good Somrak was. Boonlai is also a legendary champion and is right up there with the best fighters of all time. Somrak completely outclasses him.

Also check out his head movement.
